Nine staff members at Scotts Ridge Middle School in Ridgefield are in quarantine after one person at the school tested positive for COVID-19
RIDGEFIELD, CT — Nine staff members at Scotts Ridge Middle School are in quarantine after one person at the school tested positive for the coronavirus.
No students have been quarantined.
According to an email to the community from Superintendent Susie Da Silva, the confirmed case was at the school Nov. 2 and Nov. 4. School was closed Nov. 3 for Election day.
"Quarantine is used to keep someone who might have been exposed to COVID-19 away from others," Ridgefield Public Schools Coordinator of Nursing Services Aaron Crook wrote in his guidelines. "Quarantine helps prevent spread of disease that can occur before a person knows they are sick or if they are infected with the virus without feeling symptoms."
Quarantine for the nine staff members will last 14 days.
