Gov. Ned Lamont announced the state will be accelerating the rollout of the vaccine as hospitalizations again climbed over 400 beds.
CONNECTICUT — In anticipation of receiving a significant increase in supplies of all three federally authorized coronavirus vaccines over the next several weeks, the state will be accelerating the rollout, Gov. Ned Lamont announced Monday.
With the new tentative schedule, everyone aged 16 and older becomes eligible for the vaccine on April 5. The state will work with providers and the Department of Developmental Services to accelerate access for the most medically high-risk individuals under 45 during the month of April, according to Lamont.
So far, 59 percent of Connecticut’s population over the age of 55 has received at least one dose, including 77 percent of those over the age of 75; 71 percent of those between 65 and 74; and 40 percent of those between 55 to 64. In total, 31 percent of all adults in Connecticut over the age of 16 have received at least one dose.
