RIDGEFIELD, CT — The Office of The First Selectman has announced there are now six confirmed cases of the new coronavirus in Ridgefield.
In a press release, First Selectman Rudy Marconi said his office was notified by the Department of Public Health on Saturday afternoon.
"When we are informed, we do not receive names of individuals or locations, other than they are from Ridgefield," Marconi said.
Marconi took the opportunity to remind residents to stay at home, not to gather, and not "allow the kids to play with neighborhood children."
"The spread will be exponential and we need to be prepared to do all we can to control it," the first selectman said.
The first COVID-19 fatality in Connecticut was a Ridgefield man in his 80s, living at Benchmark Senior Living at Ridgefield Crossings.
