Coronavirus Ridgefield: Playgrounds Closed, More Livestreams
The Town's Office of Emergency Management has advised that all playgrounds are now closed.
RIDGEFIELD, CT — The Town's Office of Emergency Management has advised that all playgrounds are now closed, as part of its efforts to slow the spread of the new coronavirus.
The OEM also reiterated Gov. Ned Lamont's orders from earlier in the week, closing all shopping malls and places of amusement through April 30 (This directive does not apply to public parks and open recreation areas). Lamont also postponed the 2020 Presidential Preference Primary, from April 28 to June 2.
The Town is urging residents to sign up online receive Ridgefield messages. Residents without an email address may use noemail@ridgefield.com.
Additonal news on how Ridgefield is handling the coronavirus will be delivered on a livestream Friday at 4 p.m., through the Town website and on Comcast channel 24.
"Social distancing is the most important tool we have right now. We cannot stress enough the importance of this," OEM officials said in the press release.
