Deadlines Loom for Ridgefield Voter Registration

You have until Monday to get in The system if you want to vote in the primaries or the budget referendum.

RIDGEFIELD, CT -- The deadline is Monday to register for voting in the annual budget referendum and the primaries for candidates seeking party nominations for state, district and municipal offices.

The budget referendum will be held Tuesday May 15, with polling from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Yanity gym, 60 Prospect Street.

Monday is also the deadline by when you need to have declared your political party affiliation if you are planning to vote in any of the likely party primaries in the run-up to the November elections. Those primaries will be August 14.

To register to vote in Connecticut you must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen.
  • Be a resident of a Connecticut town.
  • Be at least 17 years of age (as long as you will turn 18 by Election Day).
  • Have completed confinement and parole if previously convicted of a felony.

Connecticut has made it easy to register online.
