Declining Enrollment Projected in Ridgefield Schools: Report
The Board of Education is considering several options to address the anticipated decrease in students.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Though there was a small uptick in school enrollment for the 2016-17 school year, Ridgefield's student population is projected to decrease slightly in coming years, prompting the Board of Education to continue its search for a solution.
The board is scheduled to meet on Monday, Jan. 9, to continue deliberations on several possible solutions, in an effort to save as much as $1 million per year, reports the Ridgefield Press.
Among the options the board is considering are closing an elementary school and redistricting the system to more evenly split up the two middle schools.
The Board of Education is scheduled to meet at 7:30 p.m. in the board Conference Room in the Town Annex at 66 Prospect St.
