Easton Police Warn Of Phishing Scam
The email also provides a phone number to call for more information. Police said the number will ring up an "overseas scam center."
EASTON, CT — Police are warning residents of a new email scam.
Easton Police Department officials posted on social media that residents and "even police officers" have been the recipients of phishing emails.
The emails purport to be from the Best Buy Geek Squad and indicate the recipient has been invoiced and the payment "processed successfully from the updated account funds."

The email also provides a phone number to call for more information. Police said the number will ring up an "overseas scam center and they will defraud you."
The best move is to just delete the email, according to police. Those already affected by the scam are advised to call the Easton Police Department.
