Art Daze I: Adventures in Paper

Artist Anne Cubberly will lead Adventures in Paper where children aged four to six years old will create animals, houses, forests, zoos—anything they can imagine—all out of paper! Using bright, colorful paper, the participants in this Art Daze summer program will learn the art of making three-dimensional forms, intricate folding, and fun pop-ups.

Art Daze I morning programs at The Aldrich allow children aged four to six years old to work with artists to experience the groundbreaking directions of today’s contemporary art. Participants in the two-day sessions unleash their creative talents to design, build, learn new concepts, experiment with materials, and have fun with their peers in a museum setting.

About the artist: Anne Cubberly is a visual artist with more than 28 years of experience making artwork and teaching. Her work includes kinetic sculpture, artist-in-residence experiences, installations, and performance. She has exhibited steadily in solo and group exhibitions and has created performances and pageants for The Cleveland Museum of Art and The Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art. She has worked extensively with school and community groups, always with a focus on creativity, process, and re-purposed materials, and is a regular contributor to The Aldrich’s Art Daze.

There is a $30 discount per child attending all three Art Daze I 2012 workshop series. Please contact Michelle Friedman: mfriedman@aldrichart.org, 203.438.4519 extension 46 during regular Museum hours for more information.

Children’s summer programs at The Aldrich are supported, in part, by The Cowles Charitable Trust and the Estate of Ruth I. Krauss
