Often described as the “Father of British Blues” – Mayall was the creator and leader of the Bluesbreakers, and helped to discover some of the best rock and blues players of our time - Eric Clapton, John Weider, Peter Green, Mick Fleetwood, Mick Taylor and John McVie. John Mayall stands out for several reasons - his standing up for the blues, while experimenting with different approaches, his ability to attract the best of musicians; and perhaps most notably his willingness to work with musicians who far outshine him in sheer ability. And he himself is a legend! Mayall’s current band includes his latest guitar discovery from Texas, Rocky Athas with hard-hitting blues rhythm section from Chicago -- Greg Rzab on bass and Jay Davenport on drums and Mayall on keys, organ, harmonica, guitar and vocals.
