Spring Hike at Great Pond

Spring Hike on Great Pond Trail at Martin Park Beach on Picketts Ridge Road, Ridgefield, CT.

Eagle Scout Jack Truskowski will lead this hike and discuss some history of the land and interesting rock outcroppings.  Jack led the effort to create this trail for his Eagle Project in the fall of 2009.  The trail is part of the Ridgefield Conservation Commission's Open Space trail system.  There are beautiful views of Great Pond from the trail.  A master gardener from the UCONN Fairfield County Extension Center office will point out several interesting plants along the trail including any early wildflowers.  Young children must be accompanied by adults.
