St. Stephen’s Concert Highlights the Church’s Organ and Choir

St. Stephen’s Church in Ridgefield will present a recital of French organ music, featuring the St. Stephen’s Festival Choir in a performance of Gabriel Faure’s Requiem with organ accompaniment.

Guest artist Frederick A. Tripodi will perform organ works by such renowned French composers as Widor, Vierne, Guilmant and Dubois.  Mr. Tripodi, a graduate of the Julliard School, has performed at venues throughout the greater tristate area, including St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the Cathedral of St. John the Divine.

The concert will conclude with a performance of Faure’s beloved Requiem, with The St. Stephen’s Festival choir directed by Scott Toperzer, Music Minister at St. Stephen’s. Soloists will be Lydia Toperzer, soprano, and Thomas Carr, baritone.  Mr. Tripodi will accompany the singers using an organ transcription of the orchestral score by Mattias Wager.

There is no price for admission, although a free-will offering will be taken.
