Eversource Conducting Helicopter Inspections Over Ridgefield

The aerial inspections start Friday and continue through Feb. 28.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Eversource has alerted residents that it is currently conducting aerial inspections of high-voltage electrical equipment on rights of way throughout Connecticut, including above Ridgefield.

The work involves the use of a helicopter equipped with heat-sensing, infrared scanning technology which can detect potential equipment issues before they occur. The chopper will be blue and silver, marked with the registration N1431W on its tail.

The aerial inspections start Friday and continue through Feb. 28. Weather permitting, flights will take place between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

"This semiannual inspection is an important part of the company's ongoing commitment to providing reliable electric service," the utility company said in a release.
