Playful Engineers: Traveling Maker Space (by Jay Mankato) came to FES the week of February 26th. Jay is a teaching artist who specializes in building Rube Goldberg Machines with kids.
He held a school wide assembly, followed by classroom workshops for every classroom where he demonstrated a few techniques using various materials. The students built table-top chain reactions, first copying what they've learned, and then planning, building and testing their own "machines". - Kim Carone
