Fire Department Appoints New Capt., Lt.
The Fire Department appointed Jerry Myers to the position of captain and Michael Moore to lieutenant.
The Ridgefield Fire Commission and the Board of Selectman unanimously voted Thursday to make Jerry Myers a captain in the fire department and Michael Moore a lieutenant.
Capt. Myers has been with the department for 30 years and has been an ambulance supervisor since 1987. He was unopposed in the appointment.
"We have every confidence that (Myers) can fill this role and serve the town of Ridgefield well," said First Selectman Rudy Marconi.
Lt. Moore, a 12-year member of the department, was voted to the position over two other candidates.
The appointments began immediately upon decision.
