First Floor Retail Incentive Plan Pitched in Ridgefield

The plan is pitched as a way to increase first-floor retail in the village district.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Selectman decided to chip in $6,000 of taxpayer dollars if village landlords throw in an equal amount for an incentive program to boost first floor retail in the village commercial district.

Qualifying business tenants who sign three year leases would be eligible, according to the Ridgefield Press.

The original idea was to offer direct tax breaks, but that ran into complications.
