Florida Man Seeks Class Action Lawsuit Against Ridgefield Company

Without stating the amount of damages the plaintiff is seeking, the suit does indicate it is likely to exceed $5 million.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — A Broward County, Florida man is suing a Ridgefield company.

Carl Ignacuinos is seeking a class-action suit against Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, the pharma headquarters of German mulitinational Boehringer Ingelheim.

In his complaint, Ignacuinos claims that he is a long-time sufferer of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (“COPD”), and has been using the company's inhaler product Combivent Respimat since at least 2016 to relieve his symptoms.

Ignacuinos turned to Combivent, the suit says, "in reliance on its representation that each inhaler/cartridge contains 120 doses, which is reproduced on each Combivent cartridge, on Defendant’s website and in its advertising, on Combivent prescriptions, and on prescription receipts."

None of the Combivent inhalers he purchased actually delivered the advertised 120 doses, the complaint states. Most delivered "half or less than half that amount and few delivered significantly more than half."

Without stating the amount of damages Ignacuinos is seeking, the suit does indicate it is likely to exceed $5 million.
