Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Date Set for Ridgefield

Bring your car waxes, fluorescent bulbs, insecticides, oven cleaners, chemistry sets, flea powder, moth balls, engine degreasers...

RIDGEFIELD, CT — The Housatonic Resources Recovery Authority is hosting a "Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off" event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5., at Ridgefield High School on 700 North Salem Road.

Residents of Bethel, Bridgewater, Brookfield, Danbury, Kent, New Fairfield, New Milford, Newtown, Redding, Ridgefield and Sherman can drop off hazardous items, which may include camera batteries, moth balls, paints, septic tank degreasers and more. (See below for a more complete list.)

Residents are advised to label or mark any gas containers they wish to keep, stay in their vehicle at all times, and refrain from smoking.
