"…the lease agreement between the Town of Ridgefield and ACT of CT were approved in a vote by Ridgefield residents…"

**News Release Submitted by Town of Ridgefield**

July 26, 2024

Read the highlights from the July 17th BOS meeting below…

  • At the May 8th Town Meeting, revisions to the lease agreement between the Town of Ridgefield and ACT of CT were approved in a vote by Ridgefield residents. After a complaint, filed by Kirk Carr, was submitted to the Board of Ethics, the option to review the vote for the lease agreement was suggested to the Board of Selectpersons. In last night’s meeting, Mr. Marconi recused himself while the BOS listened to comments from members of the public regarding the decision before determining that the vote should stand and therefor no further action is needed.
  • Ridgefield Public Schools has been awarded the Indoor Air Quality grant from the State for approximately $841,000. The money will be used toward upgrading the HVAC systems in our schools and offset monies that have already been spent on some upgrades due to an urgent need. A Town Meeting is scheduled for August 14, 2024 for approval of the resolution to appropriate funds for the project.
    • The full funding for the project must be approved first. The Town is then reimbursed once the grant money is received.
  • Congratulations to the following volunteers on their appointments & reappointments:
    • Michael Schmer - Board of Assessment Appeals
    • Kim Hulber and Russ Porter - Parks and Rec Commission
    • Christina Nolan and Aaron Crook - Commission on Aging
  • The Conservation Commission has published a new edition of the Walk Book. The 110-page book reviews over 55 miles of trails on nearly 40 properties. Each park or open space is illustrated with a color photograph of the space and map of its hiking trails. Head over to Books on the Common or the Ridgefield Running Club to pick up a copy!
  • After a two month trial, the Parking Authority has been given permission to implement fines for the new EV Charging Station regulations. New signs stating the regulations were put in place at the start of the trial. Be sure to check signage when parking around town to avoid getting a ticket!
