Hit & Run Tops Redding Police Blotter For Aug. 29 To Sept. 4

REDDING, CT — A stolen vehicle and a hit-and-run were at the top of the Redding Police Department's blotter this past week.

On Sept. 4, the caretaker of a Peaceable Street property told police that a 2017 Mercedes Benz SL-550 bearing Connecticut registration AW-75649 had been stolen. It was last seen on Sept. 3 around 11 p.m. The investigation remains open.

On Sept. 2, a motorist told police that his vehicle was struck by another while traveling along Giles Hill Road. The complainant followed the other vehicle to the parking lot of the Spinning Wheel Inn Restaurant, with the intent of exchanging insurance information. The driver of the second vehicle told the complainant that he had no insurance, then drove away southbound on Route 58. This investigation remains open.
