Holocaust Mandated Teaching Proposed By Ridgefield Sen. Boucher

Sen Boucher said she would propose the legislation this coming legislative session.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — State Sen. Toni Boucher said she intends to introduce legislation that would mandate teaching of the Holocaust and World War II. The announcement comes after a number of swastika symbols were drawn or carved in her senatorial district.

Recently a $2,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of person or persons responsible for swastika graffiti that was left outside the Masonic Lodge and Aldrich Museum last week.

Boucher worked on a bill years ago that suggested the Holocaust and World War II be included in public school curriculum. Her new idea is to make it mandatory, according to the Ridgefield Press.

Wilton and Redding have had similar incidents along with many other towns in the state.
