Housatonic Habitat elects Rohrer as President of Board
Joined Housatonic Habitat in 2013
Ridgefield resident Kent Rohrer was recently elected president of Housatonic Habitat for Humanity’s Board of Directors. Rohrer, a former executive of IBM, joined the Housatonic Habitat organization in its construction operations and finance committee in 2013. He currently manages the construction program in the 16 towns served by Housatonic Habitat for Humanity in the greater Danbury area. He also participates on the site selection committee, and the Brush with Kindness repair program.
Rohrer is currently active on the Board of Ridgefield’s Founders’ Hall and is a coordinator with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, a volunteer tax preparation service run by the Community Action Agency of Western Connecticut. He is also active with the Danbury Elks organization and was previously active with many youth sports and scouting organizations in Ridgefield. He is a member of St. Mary’s Parish, in Ridgefield.
Housatonic Habitat for Humanity has been building affordable housing in southwestern Connecticut since 1991. Volunteer-led, the local Habitat affiliate provides wrap-around services from financial literacy to home ownership mentoring to qualified work-force households.
