Family line dancing, considered to be a great way to get everyone on the dance floor, will be a feature of the September 28 Nutmeg & Neighbors event at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Ridgefield. Professional dance caller Sandra Corey will make sure everyone is in step and having fun for both line and square dancing. The early evening event, from 5 to 8, will also feature live music, O’Deen’s barbecue – complete with vegan options – a cash bar, auctions and, strictly for kids, movies, face painting, tattoos and other activities. St. Stephen’s is located at 351 Main St.

Ms. Corey has been calling for 35 years. “I thoroughly enjoy watching people smile while they're dancing - adults and kids,” she said. “Everyone has a good time. And that's my goal.”

Nutmeg & Neighbors, an intergenerational event for the community, will help sustain St. Stephen’s many outreach programs and its mission to “love our neighbors.” Everyone is invited to this fundraiser of music, food and fun for all ages. Advance tickets: $40; children under 12, $5 (family max $100, free childcare). For tickets go to www.ststephensridgefield.org. Tickets at the door: $50; children under 12, $5 (family max $120, free childcare).
