CT Weather: Heatwave Leads Into 4th Of July Forecast
Big-time weather changes are on the way for Connecticut as we approach the 4th of July holiday. Here are the new details.

As the 4th of July holiday approaches in Connecticut things are about to get really interesting. Over the next few days temps will be seasonal before thunderstorms move in Wednesday night/Thursday, which sets the stage for our first possible heat wave of the summer season.
Areas away from the immediate Connecticut coast will be in the 90s on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. And even the immediate coast will experience temps in the upper 80s. We're also about to undergo a dry spell except for a chance of some rain Wednesday night and Thursday.
The National Weather Service only projects out through Sunday currently, but the Weather Channel currently shows temps near 90 degrees on Monday, July 2, Tuesday, July 3, and on July 4. Right now the 4th of July forecast features sun.
WTNH News 8 Meteorologist Gil Simmons says, "Sunshine with a few clouds & a refreshing wind all day today! High temperatures in the upper 70s to about 80 with low humidity. A cool night tonight followed by more of the same tomorrow 75 to 80 with some sunshine. Humidity builds for mid week with showers and thunderstorms on Thursday. Big-time heat for the coming weekend!"
It looks like we're on the way to a hot and dry start to July. Lawns that were green and lush a month ago will be turning brown(er). pic.twitter.com/i1r2mdjCQx
