Marty Heiser Recommended to Board of Selectmen by GOP
Former Board of Finance chair Marty Heiser will be interviewed December 1.
The Ridgefield Republican Town Committee has recommended Marty Heiser for the open Board of Selectmen seat left by Joan Plock earlier this month.
Because Plock is a Republican, and because there are already three Democratic members on the board, the RTC was expected to make a recommendation before interviews take place at the December 1 meeting.
"I'm honored and humbled by the recommendation from the town committee," Heiser said, "and I look forward to potentially working with the Board of Selectmen."

Heiser served on the Board of Finance for 14 of the last 16 years – 12 of those years were spent as the chair.
"I feel I have a knowledge of both town government and the community," he said, "and I can bring my own experience to the board when it comes to the economic forces and the town budget."

The subcommittee of the RTC behind the recommendation included RTC chairman James Carroll and current selectman Andrew Bodner, as well as the departing Plock.
