Over 4,500 Ridgefield Homes Still Without Power

Close to 41 percent of Ridgefield homes are still without power after Tropical Storm Isaias blew through the area.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — As of 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Ridgefield still has 4,507 houses without power, according to the latest numbers from Eversource.

In a report released Saturday, the utility is pledging to have the town's lights back on by Tuesday, Aug. 11, at 11:59 p.m.

Main Street, the firehouse, the post office, the CVS corridor and Ballard Green have all been restored.

"Police, fire and town personnel have been touring the town to make sure all damage has been reported," First Selectman Rudy Marconi said in a news release on Sunday. "We continue to pressure Eversource to bring more crews to help with restoration."

Marconi is warning all residents to consider all downed wires live, and keep generators out of their garages and away from their homes.

Showers are available Sunday at Parks & Rec until 9:30 p.m., and Monday from 5-9:30 p.m.

A special hotline for storm related questions has been set up from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 203-431-2718. An additional hotline will be open from 1:30-5 p.m. Monday at 203-431-2350.
