More Parking Spaces Coming To Downtown Ridgefield

Work on the additional spaces should commence in a couple of months.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — An additional 38 parking spots are coming to downtown.

The Planning & Zoning Commission approved the long-awaited addition to the north end of Governor Street at a meeting on Feb. 11, the Ridgefield Press is reporting.

Earlier plans called for expanding the town's commercial district by as many as 60 new spaces, and voters approved that $570,000 price tag in a referendum back in May 2018. But when the dust cleared following a public hearing and input from the Inland Wetlands Board, the design calls for the addition of two new spaces in the existing lot and 36 as part of the expansion.

Work on the additional spaces should commence in a couple of months.
