RIDGEFIELD, CT — Arlene R. Burg, 87, of Ridgefield passed away peacefully at her home after fighting her battle with cancer.

She was born in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Frederick and Freida Eisenberg and brother Irwin. Arlene worked for a short time at Paramount Pictures in advertising. After her short career at Paramount, she married her high school sweetheart, Richard. They were married in 1958 and as their family expanded, they moved out to the east end of Long Island in 1967 with their three children. It was at this point she took on the job of “domestic engineer” AKA stay at home mom. She was a loving, caring mother and wife and created a warm, comfortable and loving home for her and her family. She resided at this home for 20 years with Richard and her three children Martin, Francine and Deborah before moving to Ridgefield.

When not caring for her children and home she enjoyed watching classic movies at night when all the excitement of the day settled. She also loved the relaxation of sunning herself on the beach, providing care to all her houseplants and shopping for the perfect gifts for all those who touched her heart. Arlene had a keen eye for fashion and loved to talk with people. She had the uncanny ability to strike up a conversation with just about anyone. You could always count on her to remember anyone’s name. She brought a smile and a big hello to all those who met her and soon came to love her genuineness. Arlene will always be remembered for her kindness and compassion for others.

Arlene is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Richard of 65 years, her children Martin and his wife Kathleen Burg of Sandy Hook, Francine and her late husband, Kenneth Jansen of Lake Grove, NY and Deborah and her husband James Dibble of East Marion, NY. Arlene is also survived by her grandchildren Joshua and wife Christina Burg of Colorado, Jacob and his wife Allie (Sosinsky) Burg of Massachusetts, Ethan Burg of CT, Gavin Dibble of East Marion, NY, Haylee and Kyle Jansen of Lake Grove, NY. She was a great-grandmother as well to Julian Burg.
