Obituary: Francis J. Ruth, 81, Of Ridgefield

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Francis J. Ruth passed away peacefully at home with his family on February 26, 2022. Son of Frank Ruth and Mary C. (Currie) Ruth of West Hempstead, NY, he was born March 20, 1940, in Queens, NY.

He is survived by his long-term partner, Alice Hayes of Ridgefield, and his son, Timothy Ruth of Westbrook, ME.

He received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Fordham University in New York. His professional career was spent in marketing and sales training for numerous software companies.
He recently remarked that his retirement years were the happiest of his life. A lifelong learner, he audited a multitude of courses at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury. In recent years, he developed a keen interest in genealogy and traced his ancestors back many generations in Ireland and the Czech Republic.

While he was fortunate enough to be well-travelled through both his professional career and for leisure, he had a deep appreciation of the simpler things in life. It was not unusual for him to declare whatever he was eating to be the best he had ever had. He treasured good conversation. He was completely content with a good book on the patio on a warm summer day, setting the book aside periodically to simply enjoy his surroundings.

His smile warmed our hearts until the very end and will live on forever in loving memory.
A Celebration of Frank's Life will take place at a later date. Kane Funeral Home, Ridgefield is in care of arrangements.
