Obituary: John D. Vignoli, 75, Of Ridgefield

RIDGEFIELD, CT — John D. Vignoli, 75, of Ridgefield, died peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 3, 2023 at Danbury Hospital.

John was born in Hartford on Oct. 14, 1947; a son of the late Napoleon and Joan (Boyle) Vignoli. Raised in West Hartford, John graduated from William H. Hall High School. He began his career working in retail at Sage Allen Department store where he was recruited by the manufacturer, Decorama, to join the company where he rose to national sales manager. After the company was sold, John became an entrepreneur, trying his hand in several industries before finding success with Ridgefield Drive Ur Car Service.

A longtime resident of Ridgefield, John was a member of Saint Stephen’s Episcopal Church, where he often ushered and volunteered. John loved Cape Cod, cats, cocker spaniels and country music; often attending concerts at the Ridgefield Playhouse.

John is survived by his son, Tyler; his former spouse, Carole as well as his sister Jane, nieces Stephanie and Abigail, nephew Eli, grandnephew Gage, several cousins and his dog Charlotte.
In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his twin brother James, and uncles John and Benjamin.

A Memorial Service celebrating John’s life will take place on Saturday, Sept. 9 at 1:00 p.m. at Stephen’s Episcopal Church; 353 Main Street, Ridgefield. Interment will take place privately; there will be no calling hours. Contributions in John’s memory may be made to the PBS Foundation, Thirteen (WNET) or the ASPCA.
