Obituary: Marie Celine Kertesz, 87, Longtime Resident Of Ridgefield

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Marie Celine Kertesz, 87, of Danbury, longtime resident of Ridgefield, died peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2022. She was the loving wife of the late Stephen J. Kertesz.

Celine was born in Norwalk on July 10, 1935, a daughter of the late John and Amy (Selleck) Smith.

A resident of Ridgefield for 60-plus years, Celine was a member of St. Mary’s Church. She enjoyed time spent with her family and dear friends. Celine was an exceptional cook and baker, and she enjoyed reading and word search puzzles.

Celine is survived by her three daughters; Lori Dight and her husband, Gregg; Amy Kertesz, and Lynn Mullings and her husband, Joseph. She is also survived by five grandchildren; Ryan, Tatyana and Bridgette Dight and Matthew and Quinn Mullings. In addition, Celine is survived by a brother, Richard Smith and his wife, Grace as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Celine was predeceased by her brother, Douglas Smith and his wife, Patricia.

Funeral services will take place privately. Contributions in Celine’s memory may be made to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Kane Funeral Home, Ridgefield is in care of arrangements.
