Obituary: Miriam A. Phillips, 88, Of Ridgefield

Mrs. Phillips was a member of the Ridgefield Baptist Church and an active member of the Community Bible Study and Leadership Team.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Miriam A. Phillips, 88 years of age, of Ridgefield, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 5, 2022. She was the loving wife of the late Evan Reese Phillips.

Mrs. Phillips was born in Carbondale, PA; the daughter of the late Charles and Lois (Hauenstein) Marr.

Mrs. Phillips is survived by a son, Thomas Reese Phillips; two daughters, Patricia Kuehl and her husband, Meredith, and Elizabeth Christensen and her husband, Peter; two grandchildren, Andrea Green and her husband, Chad, and Philip VanDorpe as well as a great grandson, Dillon Green and her dear brother, Robert Marr.

A resident of Ridgefield since 1987, Mrs. Phillips was a member of the Ridgefield Baptist Church and an active member of the Community Bible Study and Leadership Team. In her youth, she enjoyed acting and singing. She also enjoyed working until the age of 72 in patent departments at General Electric, Xerox Corporation, the State of Pennsylvania, the State of New Hampshire and Boehringer Ingelheim. She and her husband, Evan, achieved their lifetime goal of traveling to all 50 states and also traveled to 20 other countries.

Friends and family will be received on Friday the 11th of February from 4:00 PM to 6:00 p.m. at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield.

A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday the 12th of February at 11:00 AM at the Ridgefield Baptist Church; 325 Danbury Road, Ridgefield. Interment will follow in Mapleshade Cemetery, Ridgefield.

Masks are requested for both the visitation and the funeral service.
