Obituary: Patrick Michael Cannon, 83, Of Ridgefield

Pat began his career at IBM and retired in 1990 as a senior systems engineer.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Patrick Michael Cannon, 83, of Ridgefield, passed away Thursday, Mar. 23, 2023 at Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of Rosemary (Wenke) Cannon.

Patrick was born in Brooklyn, NY, a son of the late John Cannon and Ellen Diver Cannon. He attended Our Lady Help of Christians School in Brooklyn and was a 1956 graduate of Saint Francis Prep. Pat was drafted to play for Major League Baseball but turned down the offer due to prospect of education. Pat received his Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Fordham University in 1961.

After Pat finished his degree, he began a career at IBM and retired in 1990 as a senior systems engineer. He was an avid and passionate golfer, who could be seen at a golf course weekly. Pat was a terrific golfer, and was a part of a variety of clubs up the East Coast often playing the local links with his buddies in the Men's Senior League at Ridgefield Golf Course.

Pat was predeceased by a sister, Anna Novak; and brother, John Cannon.

In addition to his wife of 58 years, survivors include his daughters: Ellen A. Cannon Wakefield, Jennifer A. Cannon Malling, and Alicia J. Cannon. His granddaughters: Juliet Rose and Millicent Grace. His sister Grace Segrell of Monroe, New York and his brother Daniel Cannon of Middletown, New Jersey. He is also survived by seven nephews and two nieces.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Wednesday, Mar. 29, 2023 at St. Joseph Church, Danbury, with the Rev. Samuel V. Scott, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be private.

Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Mar. 28, 2023 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.
