Opening Day Looms for Ridgefield High School Teams
Tiger squads play their initial regular season contests beginning Friday.
RIDGEFIELD, CT — High school sports practices have been ongoing for nearly two weeks and many preseason scrimmages have been played, but the real deal begins Friday - opening day of the regular season for many varsity teams.
Here are the scheduled opening contests for varsity teams at Ridgefield High School. For a complete season schedule of Tiger varsity, JV and freshman teams, visit the CIAC web site.
- field hockey - Friday, 9/7, vs. New Fairfield, 5:30 p.m.
- girls volleyball - Friday, 9/7, vs. Pomperaug, 5:30 p.m.
- football - Friday, 9/7, at Darien, 7 p.m.
- girls soccer - Saturday, 9/8, at Trinity Catholic, 11 a.m.
- boys soccer - Saturday, 9/8, vs. Trinity Catholic, 4 p.m.
- cross country - Tuesday, 9/11, vs. Westhill, Darien and Stamford, 4 p.m.
- girls swimming - Monday, 9/17, vs. Fairfield Ludlowe, 4 p.m.
