The police investigation into who set the fire in the infield is still ongoing
RIDGEFIELD, CT — Governor Park, the scene of an infield fire still under investigation by the police, has reopened, the Ridgefield Press is reporting.
New soil was delivered to the field on Thursday, and town employees took about six to seven hours to complete the restoration.
The infield of Ciuccoli Field was doused in 24 gallons of gasoline and set on fire, in an apparent attempt to expedite drying it before a Ridgefield High School baseball game last Saturday, April 6. To date, the town has spent $30,000 on excavation and cleanup.
