Local Dive Teams Join Search For Missing Swimmer in Ridgefield

Local rescue crews are searching for a swimmer who went missing at Lake Naraneka, in Pierrepont State Park in Ridgefield.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Recovery efforts for a swimmer who went missing at Lake Naraneka, in Pierrepont State Park in Ridgefield are ongoing.

The missing swimmer has been identified as a New Fairfield man in his 30s, according to a statement from Capt. Jeff Raines.

The Norwalk Dive Team and the Westport Dive Team have joined local rescue crews currently searching the lake, which include Ridgefield Police, Ridgefield Fire, Danbury Fire, Danbury Dive Team and the Department of Environmental Protection.

Ridgefield Police were first notified shortly before 7 p.m. on Monday.

"The investigation is ongoing and we ask the public to stay away from the area, while emergency services are on scene," Raines said.
