Proposed Ridgefield Budget Calls For Fewer HS English Teachers

The budget overall calls for a 4.83 percent increase.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — The proposed Ridgefield Public Schools budget calls for the reduction of two full-time English teachers at the high school. It also calls for a reduction of five teachers at East Ridge Middle School and one at an elementary school.

The budget also calls for hiring new staff for the school system's special education department, according to the Ridgefield Press.

The proposed school budget includes a 4.83 percent operating budget increase, about a third of the increase comes from increased health care costs for employees.
