Public Forum Tuesday in Ridgefield on Deer Hunt

The Board of Selectmen approved a controlled hunt of deer on town-owned property in last month.

RIDGEFIELD. CT — The deer hunting season kicks off Oct. 15 and runs through Jan. 31, 2019, and if you have anything you would like to say about it, you will have your chance Tuesday night. The Town's Deer Management Implementation Committee is holding a Public Hearing at 7:30 p.m. at Ridgefield Town Hall, to receive comments on the 2018-19 controlled hunt.

There will be no hunting on weekends, no hunting on days when schools are not in session, and no hunting on holidays. When the hunt is in progress, the parcels listed below will be closed to the public:

  • Turtle Ridge Court
  • Shadow Lake
  • Between Old Trolley & Shadow Lake
  • Keeler Court
  • Ridgefield Municipal Golf Course
  • Sarah Bishop
  • Old Stagecoach/Ledges Laurel Lane
  • Bobby's Court
  • Levy Park
  • Linden Road
  • Stonecrest
  • Colonial Heights
  • Peaceable Refuge
  • Silvermine Ridge
