Public Hearing Set for Town Charter Revisions

It's the first step in a process that will culminate with a public referendum on final Charter changes in November.

RIDGEFIELD, CT -- The Board of Selectmen have set a public hearing for a series of revisions to the town charter.

Among the Charter Revision Commission's recommendations are to require that 2 percent of registered voters be present for the Annual Town Meeting to amend the budgets put forward by town officials, and to split the Inland Wetlands Board from the Planning and Zoning Commission.

The public hearing for the draft document, intended to get public comment on the recommended changes, is the first step in a process that will culminate with a public referendum on final Charter changes in November.

The hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, July 18, at 7:30 in town hall.
