RIDGEFIELD, CT — Town Republicans have chosen their five candidates for this November's Board of Education race.

Nominees Robert Ceccarini, Liz Floegel, Sean McEvoy, Rachel Ruggeri, and Bryan Ward were voted in. The sixth nominee, Darrin McGuire, was unsuccessful. McGuire had petitioned his way onto the ballot. None of the candidates currently sit on the school board.

Voter turnout was low. Just 349 registered Republicans voted, out of a Republican population of 5,848, according to the Republican Registrar of Voters.

The five board seats up for grabs are currently occupied by Sharon D’Orso, James Keidel, Tracey O’Connor, Jonathan Steckler and Fran Walton. Only Steckler, a Democrat, is seeking re-election.
