Ridgefield Academy's Jazz Band Swings At Piccolo's Restaurant
The restaurant invited the band to play for diners in what has become an annual event.

From Ridgefield Academy:
Ridgefield Academy’s eighth-grade, jazz band took its talent into town recently to perform at Piccolo’s Pizza & Pasta in Ridgefield. The restaurant invited the band to play for diners last Monday night in what has now become an annual event.
The Academy gratefully accepts these opportunities for its students with the knowledge that performing in unfamiliar surroundings, especially in front of a live audience, fosters self-confidence, poise and independence in young people. Additionally, practicing and playing in a jazz ensemble cultivates mutual respect through collaboration, particularly in a live setting without the aid of a conductor.
According to music teacher and band director Jamie Kaye, the band featured such toe-tapping arrangements as Chicago’s “25 or 6 to 4”, “Avenue Swing” and a medley of Earth, Wind & Fire hits.
