Ridgefield Boys Win Big, Advance to Tournament Final

The Tigers dominated Daniel Hand in the opening round of the Masuk Holiday Tournament.

MONROE, CT — Ridgefield High School's boys basketball team raced to a 14-4 first-quarter lead and never looked back, coasting to a 65-27 win over Daniel Hand Tuesday in the opening round of the Masuk Holiday Tournament.

The Tigers opened up a 36-13 advantage at intermission en route to their first win of the season after opening with a pair of losses.

Three Tigers scored in double figures, led by Brenden McNamara's 13 points. Zach Esemplare and Chris Longo each tallied 11 points, while Nick Laudati dominated defensively with nine blocked shots.

Ridgefield will face Bunnell in the tournament championship game Thursday at 7 p.m. at Masuk High School.
