Ridgefield Buys SPHERE Bus
The selectmen appropriated $17,816 for the purchase of the bus from SPHERE.
RIDGEFIELD, CT — The Board of Selectmen have approved the purchase of the Special People’s Education, Recreation and Employment (SPHERE) bus in a vote at their Sept. 18 meeting, the Ridgefield Press has reported.
The selectmen appropriated $17,816 for the purchase of the bus from SPHERE, with whom the town had previously shared the vehicle, covering approximately 70 percent of the annual operating expense of about $48,000. SPHERE, which serves the disabled community in Ridgefield, is switching to a van.
