Ridgefield Calls Public Hearing On Use Of Funds For 3 Town Projects

This Public Hearing​ is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 7:30 p.m. at East Ridge Middle School​.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — The Town is inviting residents to a Public Hearing on the request of funds, totaling $820,917, to be used toward three Town projects that were approved for state grants.

The appropriated funds for each project will be reimbursed through the corresponding grant.

The awarded grants, summary of Town projects, and the amounts are as follows:

  1. VW EVSE ZIP Grant: $50,917 for the purchase and installation of 6 Dualport Level 2 Chargers to be located at the Governor Street Municipal Parking lot, Richard E Venus Building, and Parks & Rec Center.
  2. CT DEEP Urbanized Act Grant: $400,000 for ADA playground upgrades to allow for fully compliant play structures and surfaces at Ridgebury and Barlow Elementary Schools.
  3. CT DOT Community Connectivity Grant: $370,000 for the construction and installation of sidewalks along a portion of New Street and Pound Street. The above will come before a Town Meeting for a vote on January 3, 2024.
