RIDGEFIELD, CT — The 2019 municipal election is heating up in Ridgefield and there are plenty of races with candidates eager to serve in elected office.
Ridgefield Patch asked candidates to answer questions about their campaigns and will be publishing candidate profiles as election day draws near.
Stan Galanski is running for the Board of Assessment Appeals as a Democrat. He was the president and CEO of The Navigators Group, a global specialty insurance company that was acquired by The Hartford this year. He now does advisory and consulting work at his new company G58 Capital.

The single most pressing issue facing our town/district is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.
A pressing challenge is attracting Ridgefield residents who have not previously held elected office to do so. It is important that we continue to develop the next generation of community-minded public servants to continue the good work done in this town over the last 20 years that make Ridgefield the wonderful community that it is.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

If you are a challenger, in what way has the current board or officeholder failed the community (or district or constituency)?
I am getting involved in this election as a way of providing service to this wonderful community.

this job?
For twenty of the last 24 years I have been the CEO of a publicly traded insurance company. I have a track record of performance coupled with a reputation for integrity , honesty and professionalism.

I will always listen to Assessment Appeals with an open mind and I committed to fairness in the decision making process.
