Ridgefield Citizen Police Academy Accepting Applications.​

The Ridgefield Police Department has announced that its Citizen Police Academy is accepting applications.​ The Academy will begin Feb. 11.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — The Ridgefield Police Department has announced that its Citizen Police Academy is accepting applications.

The Academy is meant to educate participants about various aspects of police work and provide insight into how the Ridgefield PD works and provides services to the town.

Topics will include crime scene investigation, K-9 Unit, firearms, TASER, speed enforcement, DUI enforcement, search-and-seizure, and the department's history.

The Academy will begin Feb. 11 and will meet every Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. for 8 weeks. It will be held at police headquarters located at 76 East Ridge Road. The deadline to register is Feb. 9.

Applicants must be a minimum of 18-years-old at the time of application and should live or work in Ridgefield.
