Ridgefield Community Rallies Around Mom Stricken With Stage 4 Cancer

Lisa Barrett is the single parent of a senior in Ridgefield High School who can no longer work, according to her GoFundMe page.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — The community is rallying around a Ridgefield mom who has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.

Lisa Barrett, 55, was diagnosed with the disease in January 2023, and can no longer work, according to a GoFundMe organized by Allison Stockel, former executive director of the Ridgefield Playhouse.

"The medical bills alone are a lot, but making ends meet as a single parent of a senior in high school adds another layer," Stockel posted on the fundraising website

The GoFundMe page, called "Support our friend Lisa Barrett during this very tough time," has raised just over $14,300 since its creation Sept. 18. The goal has been set at $50,000.

"While Lisa is not one to ask for help, I will," Stockel said. "Let's all help Lisa, who has been such an important part of our lives and the town of Ridgefield."
