Ridgefield To Consider Switching BOE Health Insurance
The move could potentially save the district money going forward.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — The Board of Education is looking for potential savings in order to reduce its budget. The biggest potential item is a switch in health insurance providers.
The current budget proposal estimates a 10 percent increase in insurance costs for the district, but the actual number may be closer to 15 percent, according to the Ridgefield Press.
The district pays up to $200,000 for claims for anyone covered by the plan at which point the stop-loss coverage kicks in. So far there are seven claims beyond the stop-loss measure.
