Ridgefield Coronavirus Update For May 20

Here's the latest information regarding reopenings, mask distributions and more in Ridgefield during the coronavirus pandemic.

RIDGEFIELD, CT—For anyone eager to play a game of tennis or visit the dog park, you'll have to wait a little longer. Ridgefield town officials announced this week that the dog park and tennis courts will not reopen until June 1. Other reopening dates recently announced include:

  • Martin Park: June 13
  • Recreation Center: June 20
  • Camps: June 29

Business Signs

Town officials said town hall has available signage for Ridgefield businesses ready for pickup.

The signs can be picked up at town hall anytime between 8:30-4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. There will be a box in the vestibule just inside the town hall front doors.

"Please take one sign per business door," town officials posted in a tweet.

Hair Salons and Barbershops

First Selectman Rudy Marconi said he has reached out to State Senator Will Haskell earlier this week requesting that those hair salons and barber shops that are ready to safely reopen be allowed to do so. On Monday, Gov. Ned Lamont changed the reopening date until June for barber shops and hair salons.

COVID-19 Testing

Another drive-thru COVID-19 test for residents will take place on Saturday, May 30. Sign-up information is not yet activated but will be posted as soon as details are available, town officials said.
