Ridgefield Dems Sponsor 'Plant Democracy' To Spruce Up Senior Housing
Volunteers are needed to assist in the work of beautifying Ridgefield's Ballard Green senior housing community.
RIDGEFIELD, CT — The Ridgefield Democratic Committee is sponsoring Plant Democracy on Sunday, Apr. 23, a "celebration of spring, Earth Day, and community service."
Volunteers are needed to assist in the work of beautifying the town’s Ballard Green senior housing community.
The all-ages event will start at noon at the Ballard Park Gazebo with remarks by First Selectman Rudy Marconi, State Representatives Aimee Berger-Girvalo (11th District) and Keith Denning (42nd), and State Senators Julie Kushner (24th) and Ceci Maher (26th). Volunteers will then walk a short distance to the senior housing complex to rake and tidy garden beds and plant spring flowers. The event is scheduled to end at 2:30 p.m. and will be held rain or shine.
Those planning to attend are advised to "bring energy, gloves and a rake or trowel," and the Ridgefield DTC will supply the plants. Registration is online here.
