Ridgefield Doctor Admits Guilt in Insurance Scheme

He admitted to defrauding medicare and private insurance companies.

A Ridgefield osteopathic physician pleaded guilty to defrauding medical and private insurance companies for procedures he didn’t perform.

David Johnston, 46, of Ridgefield made the plea in federal court Friday, said Tom Carson, U.S. District Attorney of Connecticut spokesman. He operates the Osteopathic Wellness Center LLC in Ridgefield.

Johnston will enter into a civil settlement with the government and will pay more than $270,000 to settle civil claims.

He faces up to 10 years in prison when he is sentenced in April.
